Bad working practices have a HIGH COST!
89% of companies compete primarily on the basis of customer experience (Gartner).
The Project Management Institute (PMI) reported that poor communication is the number one reason why projects fail. With poor communication being a contributing factor in 56% of the projects that failed…
❌ Organisations struggle to adapt to emerging trends, disruptive technologies, or shifts in customer behaviour and a lack of clarity among teams causes misunderstandings, leading to confusion, errors, and rework - putting them at a competitive disadvantage.
❌ Resources and time are wasted on developing solutions that do not resonate with users or address their real needs, along with a lack of alignment meaning teams work towards conflicting objectives.
❌ Opportunities are missed to create breakthrough products, services, or experiences that address unmet user needs and capture market share whilst teams are getting lost in details, losing sight of the big picture - leading to poor decision-making and ineffective work.
❌ Slower decision-making caused by communication problems and low engagement among employees, halts progress and creates a negative work environment.
❌ Problems persist or go unresolved, customers and users may experience negative consequences like poor service, decreased satisfaction, and reduced trust in the organisation. Within the teams - information overload is causing overwhelm, making it difficult for people to prioritise and to process and act on information effectively.
77% of CEOs find it challenging to find the creativity and innovation skills necessary for their workforce (PWC CEO Survey).
Only 56% of corporate strategies are effectively translated into actions due to poor problem-solving capabilities (QSM Associates).
DESIGN THINKING and VISUAL THINKING are the ANTIDOTE!
Design Thinking is about putting the HUMAN at the centre of all problem-solving to come up with the best solutions there are.
Visual facilitation is about being able to visualise your work in simple pictures - that anyone (yes - even YOU) can draw and understand.
Here’s what happens when you combine DESIGN THINKING and VISUAL THINKING:
✅ Build what people really WANT - The user is at the heart of the problem-solving process. Truly putting yourself in their shoes allows for empathy and an understanding of what their needs and behaviours are, resulting in memorable and engaging experiences. Clarity is created using visuals, eliminating confusion and unlocking a clear understanding of goals, objectives and expectations - leading to faster decision-making and increased productivity along the way.
✅ Think up outside-the-box IDEAS - Brainstorming is taken to the next level using creative ideation techniques that lead to fresh ideas and new ways to solve complex problems. Using simple digestible visuals to break down these complex ideas, improves collaboration and your ability to tackle challenging problems.
✅ Solve problems FAST - Working in iterations means ideas are quickly and continually improved and refined - through prototyping, testing, and feedback loops. Doing this visually gives the big picture and creates a shared understanding of the parts and how they all fit together. This creates a different perspective and you are able to spot challenges and make connections that you wouldn’t see otherwise.
✅ SAVE time and money - Ideas are validated early on, through prototyping and testing. This reduces the chances of launching a product or service that people don’t want - saving on resources. Since a picture is worth a thousand words, using simple visuals allows you to make communication simple, clear and fast. Recovering lost time and allowing for smoother work.
✅ Create NEXT-LEVEL solutions - Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams including designers, engineers, marketers, and end-users results in diverse points of view that lead to holistic and robust solutions. With visual aids, mental overload is reduced which causes stress and kills creative thinking. The visual anchors reduce overwhelm and improve focus and attention, leading to more productive sessions and unique idea generation.
McKinsey’s research suggests that employees save an average of 50 minutes daily due to efficient collaboration. This is primarily attributed to streamlined communication.
PwC found that 79% of the most innovative companies have well-defined innovation strategies in place, while just 47% of the least innovative companies do.

✏️MEET YOUR TRAINERS✏️
Marcus has been on the WorkVisible journey since day one (2017!) when it was created by his father Andy de Vale a pioneering business consultant with over 20 years experience. Andy discovered the power of using visual facilitation as a tool to transform the way people worked.
After Andy’s tragic and unexpected passing in 2022, Marcus continued WorkVisible and is now director alongside his sister Emily de Vale.
Through his father’s enthusiasm and guidance, Marcus developed a passion for empowering people to communicate and collaborate effectively.
Over the years Marcus has trained and run visual workshops for companies such as DWP, Roche, Adobe, Bupa, Emergn, RedHat and more. Marcus has also spoken and visualised conversations at conferences such as Lean Agile London.
Over last 22 years in business transformation, product management, innovation, customer experience and digital transformation, Rujuta has guided several companies through their transformation journey from idea generation through to execution. Working for giants such as PwC, Microsoft, Accenture and scaling up systems and processes for large corporate clients across industries, she I came to the conclusion that business growth and transformation starts and ends with “The people”.
She founded Solved Together, with a mission to revolutionise workplaces to become fulfilling and nurturing spaces filled with purpose and meaning - where people spend their time not because they have to, but because they want to, they look forward to coming to work.
She now helps businesses develop a human-centered approach to growth and transformation, using executive coaching and outcome-based workshops to help them harvest the brilliance of their most expensive resource - their people, while taking advantage of cutting edge technology such as AI, Machine Learning, Smart Devices and more.
